Hometown craft, bake sale Saturday

The “Hometown Handmade” craft and bake sale is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Hometown Volunteer Fire Company, 45 Mahanoy Ave. (Route 54), Tamaqua.

The indoor event, organized by the fire company’s ladies’ auxiliary, will also feature a basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, food, beverages and photo opportunities with replicas of well-known vehicles.

Proceeds benefit the fire company.

Approximately 20 crafters with a variety of unique and handmade items will be on hand. For a donation to the fire company, attendees can have their photos taken weather permitting with replicas of the General Lee, the car featured in “The Dukes of Hazzard,” and the vehicle featured in “Ghostbusters.”

The raffle will include baskets and gift cards donated by area businesses and individuals.

Magic 105.5 WMGH will be “On the Road Live” with Karen O’Toole from 9-11 a.m.

The Lakeside Winery, Barnesville, will sell wine, and Gimbel Farms, Tamaqua, will have its candy apples.

For more information, or to volunteer, text 570-290-8089 or email gurustuckradio@ptd.net. The event can be found on Facebook at “Indoor Hometown craft and bake sale with basket raffle.”
