Oct. 2-Oct. 8

Drew Kokinda, Panther Valley Golf

Kokinda captured the District 11 Class 2A championship with a 7-over par 79 to win the title by four strokes over Mahanoy Area’s Collin Schreiber last week. The victory earns Kokinda a spot at the PIAA championships at Penn State University.

Mallory Conner, Northwestern Lehigh Tennis

Conner advanced to the finals of the District 11 Class 2A singles tournament as the No. 3 seed. The sophomore posted three victories over two days in the tournament after reaching the semis as a freshman last year. The Tigers do not have a tennis team, and Conner plays independently.

Charli McHugh, Lehighton Girls Soccer

McHugh scored five goals in a 2-1 week for the Tribe. She scored twice in Lehighton’s 4-0 win over North Schuylkill on Monday, and had a hat trick in the Tribe’s 8-0 win over Jim Thorpe Wednesday as Lehighton scored 12 goals in two wins.
