The results of the Summit Hill Festival held over the Labor Day weekend were announced by the Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization, sponsor of the two-day event.

The festival netted $10,961.13. Churches and other organizations whose members participated in the festival received the larger share of the proceeds while SHCIO’s share amounted to $3,548.23.

SHCIO members voted to add 50% of those proceeds to existing funds of $7,000 in a fund aimed at establishing a building that will serve the needs of senior citizens and high school students for recreational gathering purposes.

Named to the building committee are Thomas and Synnove Miller, Don Walker, Kathleen Lanzos and Philip Shelton.
