Mr. and Mrs. Leon Shartzer of Tamaqua will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Oct. 10. The couple was married Oct. 10, 1998, by Father James Loften in Sacred Heart Church, New Philadelphia.

Mrs. Shartzer is the former Judy Basgil, daughter of Elizabeth Basgil and the late Vincent Basgil.

Mr. Shartzer is the son of the late Larry and Catherine Shartzer of Cumbola.

The couple celebrated their anniversary at La Dolce Casa surrounded by their family and friends. Pastor Jack Murray was present to bless the couple on this occasion.

The couple will be celebrating with a second honeymoon trip to Ocean City, Maryland, later this fall.
