A 23-year-old Lehighton man was hospitalized after he accidentally shot himself in the leg.

Borough police were dispatched at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday to Second Avenue for an accidental shooting.

The man shot himself in the leg while trying to de-cock his pistol.

He was taken to St. Luke’s Bethlehem.

Police said there was nothing suspicious discovered during the investigation.

Police did not release the man’s identity.
