Fundraiser for Palmerton motorcycle crash victim

A GoFundMe has been set up for a Palmerton man who was severely injured Monday in a motorcycle crash.

Theresa Muniz of Tamaqua organized the GoFundMe for her boyfriend, Dan Imbriaco, on Tuesday.

As of Friday morning, $1,846 of the $5,000 goal had been raised.

The crash happened about 7 p.m. Monday along Route 248 at the Parryville exit.

He is in the ICU and will be there for a few weeks, according to Muniz.

Muniz said they are going to be amputating Imbriaco’s leg.

“And I want to make sure he gets out of the hospital with a clean slate,” Muniz said in her GoFundMe post. “The funds will be used for any medical/loss of income for him.

“Anyone that knows Dan knows he is a very high spirit and positive guy. He finds light in any situation and can put a smile on your face.

“With him being in the ICU he is grateful he has his life and family to support him. This is a long road ahead for him and any little bit helps.”

Nadalyn Imbriaco, of Palmerton, Dan’s sister, said it’s a difficult time for the family.

“My family has never asked the community for help; we pride ourselves on being the first ones to help our community when we can,” Nadalyn said. “We’re just at a point where we need all the support and love we can get because this is our baby of the family.

“We have gone through so many tragedies; this one is probably the worst of the worst. Just watching a loved one suffer, and you can’t take away their pain.”

Nadalyn said Dan is a 2020 graduate of Palmerton Area High School.

“He would give you the shirt off his back kind-of-guy, high-spirited, a good person, outgoing and friendly; he just wants anybody in his presence to feel the same way. He’s a handyman, helps out wherever he can, he’s so helpful, looks to pitch in whenever.”

Nadalyn said Dan and Theresa were “getting their lives together.”

“They just moved into an apartment, Danny just landed a very great job that thankfully they’re going to hold for him,” she said. “They were both in really good spots; this is just holding them back a lot.

“Our main focus is just trying to keep him in a decent spot to where he can manage during his really, really long recovery.”

Nadalyn said the family is also trying to set up a dine and donate at P.J. Whelihan’s in Lehighton.

“Dan is going through life-changing surgery today (Thursday),” she said. “And it’s been very heavy.”
