Halloween safety

The Weatherly American Legion Auxiliary Unit 360 is partnering with the borough police and Sernak Farms to host a Halloween Safety Program, Pancakes and Pumpkins, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the post home in Weatherly.

Children ages 10 and under in the Weatherly area are welcome to attend the free event, but registration is required. Contact Georgia Farrow at 570-427-4527 for more information and to register.

Pizza sale

The American Legion Post 360 Auxiliary will hold its monthly unbaked pizza sale Oct. 20 with pickup from 4 to 6 p.m. at the post home.

The deadline to order is Oct. 13. Choices are regular pizza and extra toppings are three-cheese, extra cheese, mushroom, sausage and pepperoni.

There will be no unbaked pizza sale in November because of the holiday, and the last sale of the year is Dec. 1.

Truck or treat

The Weatherly Police Department is inviting businesses and organizations to join them Halloween night at Eurana Park.

Participants should decorate their trunks and children will walk car to car to collect candy. Participants must be set up by 5:30 p.m. and the event kicks off at 6 p.m.

Raffle, dumplings

Zions Lutheran Church will hold a basket raffle from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 3 and from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 4.

Apple dumplings will also be available for sale. Preorders are being taken by calling 570-427-4169.

Refreshments will be available.

Cemetery walk

The Weatherly Area Museum is hosting a cemetery walk at 1 p.m. Saturday starting at the gazebo in Union Cemetery in Weatherly.

Stories of family residents who shaped community will be shared and the theme is Weatherly area schools.

Refreshments will follow in the museum. There is no charge, but donations are appreciated.

Halloween party

The Lehigh & Lausanne Rural Volunteer Fire Co. will host a Halloween party for children 12 and under at 5 p.m. Oct. 21 at the fire company social hall.

Entry fee includes hots, chips, drinks, candy, games and music, and prizes will be awarded for costumes.

The party is open to all Weatherly area school children living in Weatherly, White Haven, and Lehigh, Lausanne and Packer townships. Registration is due by Oct. 19 by calling Amanda at 570-535-0168.

Fire companyraffle

The Citizens Fire Co. No. 1 of Weatherly is holding its annual fall raffle.

Tickets for the 50/50 and gun raffle are available from members, and drawing will be from 8-11 p.m. Nov. 10. The kitchen will be open.

Library basket raffle

The Weatherly Area Community Library will host its annual basket raffle from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Packer Township municipal complex, 2234 Hudson Drive, Weatherly.

The preview day is from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 13. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Lead survey

Weatherly Borough is asking residents to complete and return a water system survey by Oct. 16. Residents can pick up a survey at the borough office during business hours or call 570-427-8640.
