State police at Hazleton
State police at the Hazleton barracks reported on the following incidents:
• George Davis Jr., 91, of Weatherly, was cited after a crash at 5:05 p.m. Sept. 2 at the intersection of Hudson and Wetzel Run drives in Packer Township.
Police said he was driving a 2018 Ford Escape westbound on Wetzel Run Drive when he failed to clear the intersection and struck a 2003 Honda CRV driven by Laura J. Ferko, 64, of Jim Thorpe. No one was injured in the crash.
Police said the Escape was towed from the scene wile the Honda was able to be driven from the site.
• Holly A. Jones, 51, of White Haven, sustained suspected serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 2:56 p.m. Aug. 18 on Interstate 81 in Butler Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Valley Regional Fire and Rescue Squad to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Police said she was driving a 2008 GMC Acadia that she lost control of. It left the main roadway and traveled down an embankment.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Madilyn G. Hinkle, 20, of Weatherly, a passenger in one of two vehicles involved in a crash at 5:34 p.m. Aug. 18 at the intersection of Hudson and Brenkman drives in Packer Township, sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Police said she was not transported to a medical facility.
The crash occurred when a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic operated by Dominique H. Spaide, 26, of Weatherly, traveling east on Quakake Road, approached the intersection with Hudson Drive and attempted to cross it while a 2012 Hyundai Elantra operated by Jaiden A. Evangelista, 20, of Weatherly, attempted to turn left onto Hudson Drive and the two vehicle met.
Police said both drivers were cited.
The Sonic was damaged and the Hyundai was towed from the scene, police said.
Neither driver was injured. Hinkle was a passenger with Evangelista.
• Michael D. Tuggle, 48, of Freeland, was cited for a crash at 4:17 p.m. Aug. 7 at the intersection of South Church and Tamaqua streets in Banks Township.
Police said he was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer north on South Church Street when it failed to stop in time and “rear-ended” a 2012 Nissan Rogue operated by Miguel O. Tapia Balcacer, 32, also of Freeland.
Police said Tapia Balcacer had minor injuries and was transported by personnel from the McAdoo Fire Company Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
• Police were called to a theft incident that happened between 11 a.m. Aug. 3 and midnight Aug. 13 at a property on West Oak Street in Tresckow, Banks Township.
Police said a 55-year-old man from McAdoo reported someone stole a Ryobi weed whacker valued at $175 from his property.
• A 61-year-old Coaldale man was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to an altercation at 5:44 p.m. Aug. 20.
It happened on Hazle Township Boulevard in Hazle Township. Police did not identify a victim in the incident.
