Mahoning Township supervisors granted conditional approval for Behavioral Health Associates, located at 2466 Mahoning Dr. East, to add a classroom to serve students with autism.

The approval is conditioned upon the LTL Consultants, Peter Eisenbrown review letter dated Aug. 11.

Scott Strausberger, director of Mahoning Valley Academy, said the additional classroom would allow more services for students.

He said they service local school districts, as well as districts in other counties.

Strausberger said autism is a population that is underserved. He said they would also explore moving services into other counties.

Strausberger said there would be no additional expansion at the Mahoning site.
