Lehighton man faces DUI charge

A Lehighton man faces a charge of DUI following a traffic stop.

Borough police were on patrol at 11:16 p.m. Sept. 16 when they observed a blue Ford F-350 traveling on East Broad Street fail to use its right turn signal while turning onto Blakeslee Boulevard.

Police began following the vehicle which was traveling in a careless manner.

A traffic stop was conducted, and clues of impairment were observed.

The driver, a 47-year-old Lehighton man, admitted to taking oxycodone and methamphetamine.

He was then given field sobriety testing and was subsequently taken for a blood draw.

Charges are pending lab results. Police did not release his name as charges have not been filed yet.
