State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• Police charged Marie Lamar, 49, of Shinglehouse with harassment after they were called to a property on Blue Mountain Road in East Penn Township at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 24.

Police said she sent messages to the boyfriend of a 31-year-old Lehighton woman via Facebook messenger.

• A 78-year-old Palmerton woman lost money in a theft by deception/credit/ATM card incident.

Police were called at 5:57 p.m. Sept. 14 to a property on Summer Mountain Road in Towamensing Township.

The female victim reported an identity theft, saying she was instructed to purchase gift cards. The woman then provided the gift card information to the unknown person. The amount was not disclosed by police.

• A 21-year-old woman from Effort is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said they stopped her in a 2018 Subaru Legacy for a Motor Vehicle Code violation at the intersection of Route 209 and McIlhaney Road in Chestnuthill Township.

The charges are pending the result of toxicology tests, police said. Police have not released her name.
