The annual Shower of Roses will grace the Nesquehoning community on Sunday.
The celebration, which stems decades, will begin at 11 a.m. with a spaghetti dinner and food sale on the grounds of Madonna Hall, located behind the Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux at 1 E. Garibaldi Ave. in the New Columbus section of Nesquehoning.
A celebratory Mass will take place at 1 p.m. and will include the crowning of the Rose Queen.
A procession through the borough will begin at 3:15 p.m., following by the recitation of the Rosary at 3:45 p.m. and benediction at 4:15 p.m.
The event will conclude with the distribution of roses.
In preparation of the event, a St. Therese novena will take place at 6 p.m. today; as well as at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the shrine.
