Tamaqua police identify suspects who painted church with graffiti

Tamaqua police identified a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl as the individuals who spray-painted pink graffiti on the Trinity United Church of Christ property overnight on Sept. 19-20.

Police said the two then continued walking on Lafayette Street, where a Tamaqua Area School District mural is located. The teens also defaced that school project with pink spray paint.

Officers said an estimate of damages is expected so that charges can be filed before the appropriate authority.
