September 28, 1985 - Randy Thomas runs for 104 yards and a touchdown to help Palmerton gain a 20-15 Centennial League victory over Notre Dame. The Blue Bombers, coached by Jack Sweeney, allow the game’s first score before taking the lead in the second quarter on George Schmidt’s 3-yard TD run and two-point conversion. The winners extend the margin after B.J. Nalesnik recovers a fumble, his first of two in the game, deep in Crusader territory. Herb Strohl eventually crosses the goal line from a yard out, while Thomas adds a 15-yard TD run in the third frame.
