TOPS meeting
Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran, Kresgeville, host a TOPS meeting from 5:30 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday.
Altar & Rosary
All ladies of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church parish are invited to come to the Altar and Rosary meeting next Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the cafe to learn how to make Rosaries.
Solar hearing
A second hearing on the proposed Effort Solar Farm has been set for 6 p.m. today at the Polk Township Fire Company in Kresgeville.
Missions dinner
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is holding its second monthly West End Missions dinner at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow.
New Youth Minister
Middle School students at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, have the opportunity to meet the new youth minister tonight at 6 p.m. in the teen room in the atrium.
Lions meeting
The Western Pocono Lions Club is meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Cherry’s Restaurant in Kresgeville.
CWU meeting
Church Women United will hold a business meeting on Friday at noon, at Faith United Methodist Church, 1160 Clause Dr., Stroudsburg.
Attendees are asked to please bring a bag lunch and bring a friend.

Fall cleanup
Eldred Township is having its fall cleanup from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
The event is free (except tires) to all township residents. They can bring all the things not suitable for disposal in regular trash, including mattresses, old lawn furniture, gas grills etc.
The township does recycle metals so residents are asked to please keep those things separate.
Tires can be brought for a fee of: including car tires, truck tires and for large truck (tractor trailer etc.) tires.
The next event of this type will be in the spring of 2024.
Precious junk sale
Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, is holding its precious junk sale Friday and Saturday, with both days the event beginning at 10 a.m.
Blood drive held
Monroe County Conservation District is hosting a Red Cross blood drive Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday event
The Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club will restart its monthly block shoots and meat raffle on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m., at 122 Gun Club Lane, Saylorsburg. It is 12-gauge shotgun only.

Polk Environmental event
Polk Township will be celebrating Polk Township Environmental Day on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Polk Walking Park on Polk Township Road.
The bakers at Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church have been invited to bring homemade goodies to the event to sell so it should be a sweet time.
In addition, participants will be asked to fill out a leaf stating “I promise to protect God’s creation by ...”
Those leaves will be collected and hung the leaves on a wooden tree that will be displayed at the event and then at the church.
Ham dinner
Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, is having a ham takeout dinner Oct. 14. Dinner will include ham, filling with gravy, carrots, applesauce, roll and choice of molasses or pineapple upside-down cake. Orders must be placed by calling 570-688-5381 no later than this Sunday.
Pick up dinners at the church on Oct. 14 between 4 and 5:30 p.m.
Hillside Cemetery
A meeting will of the Hillside Memorial Association will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, in the church library of Effort UMC.
Anyone wishing to hear what is going on or wishes to join the membership is invited to attend.
