The Mahoning Township board of supervisors voted 3-2 to make a $140,000 offer to purchase an old house on Seneca Drive that would eventually be transformed into a new municipal building.
Supervisors Tim Eckhart, chairman, Paul Mertz and Charles Eidem cast affirmative votes to a motion made by Eckhart to offer Nancy Kuhns the above sum for the property. Supervisors Bruce Keiper and Dawn Blocker voted against the move.
The board discussed using the old house for its police department headquarters and spoke about the possibility of adding onto the structure for municipal offices.
