Wrecker teams post 1st victories
The Weatherly girls soccer and volleyball teams both picked up their initial victories of the season on Friday.
Elsewhere, Northern Lehigh picked up a win in boys soccer while Northwestern’s field hockey team earned a tie with Nazareth.
BOYS SOCCER
No. Lehigh-LLA
Northern Lehigh posted a 2-1 non-league win over Lincoln Leadership Academy.
Ethan Moore scored both of the Bulldogs’ goals, while Jimmy Stock made six saves in goal.
Northern Lehigh improves to 3-6-1 on the season. Lincoln Leadership falls to 2-4.
GIRLS SOCCER
Weatherly-CMVT
Beth Houser scored a pair of goals as Weatherly beat Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, 4-1, for its first victory of the season.
Erin Prete added a goal and an assist for the Wreckers, while Laurel Kennedy chipped in a goal
Kendall Gerhart made 11 saves to get the victory in goal.
Weatherly improves to 1-7 overall.

Weatherly-LLA
Weatherly won its first match of the season, sweeping Lincoln Leadership Academy, 26-24, 26-24, 25-17, in non-league action.
The Wreckers got contributions from numerous players, including Abby Watson (eight service, eight digs, three aces); Kelly Reiner (five kills, four digs, two blocks, two aces); Rachel Rosenlund (11 service points, five aces); Taylor Davidovich (five digs, two aces); Abby Binder (five kills); and Kaiya Kunkle (four kills).
Weatherly improves to 1-10 overall, while Lincoln Leadership falls to 0-8.
Lincoln won the JV match 25-18, 18-25, 17-15.
FIELD HOCKEY
Northwestern-
Nazareth
Northwestern and Nazareth battled to a 2-2 non-league tie.
Rylee McGinley and Ella Dangello scored for the Tigers with Carsyn Van Norman adding an assist on the Dangello goal.
Morgan Herceg and Morgan Koch tallied for the Blue Eagles.
Northwestern’s Emma Yanders and Nazareth’s Mackenzie Mann both made nine saves in their respective goals.
The Tigers are now 8-1-1 on the season, while Nazareth is 4-2-3.
