The Rev. George C. Loeffler ended his formal association with the Episcopal Parish of St. Mary and St. John, Jim Thorpe, effective Sept. 1, to take on wider duties in the Diocese of Bethlehem. He served as a deacon locally for the past 15 years.

Loeffler, who was called by the present Ordinary Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Paul V. Marshall, to serve as his chaplain, will accompany the bishop on his visits around the diocese.

Loeffler was honored Sunday by the congregation, being presented a plaque by John M. Herbster, senior warden, with the blessing of its rector, the Rev. Canon Kenneth S. Umbehocker.
