Man faces charges in Lake Hauto incident

Louis Cichon, 56, of Nesquehoning, is facing charges of reckless endangerment after state police at the Frackville barracks were called at 10:15 p.m. Aug. 29 to a property at the intersection of Lake Drive and Deer Trail in Lake Hauto, Rush Township.

Police said a 57-year-old woman from Nesquehoning was driving a 2016 GMC Sierra on Lake Drive enroute to her residence when Cichon jumped in front of her vehicle. Police said the woman stopped and got out of her car to provide assistance to Cichon, who began screaming and punching the hood of her vehicle.

Police said when the woman attempted to re-enter the car in fear of her safety, Cichon ran into the front quarter panel of the Sierra, damaging it. He then ran into the woods and was not located.

Police said later in the overnight hours, police were called to a suspicious man in the same area. They found Cichon standing in the middle of Lake Drive and took him into custody. Police said he appeared to be under the influence of narcotic drugs.
