Tamaqua officer promoted to corporal

Tamaqua Borough Council unanimously passed a motion Tuesday to promote Patrolman Karl Harig to the rank of Corporal, effective immediately.

Mayor Nathan Gerace conducted the ceremony, presenting Harig with a certificate and his new badge. Adding to the significance of the event, Harig’s son, Nicholas Harig, proudly placed two pins on his father’s lapel, symbolizing the pride and admiration felt by the entire community.

“Karl, congratulations!” Council President Brian Connely exclaimed, a sentiment shared by all the Council members.

Corporal Harig thanked each member of the Council and shook their hands.

Harig joined the force is 2008.
