A Mahoning Township man has been named to an unexpired term on the Carbon County Industrial Development Authority.

He is Elbert Solt, former superintendent of schools in the Lehighton Area School District.

Solt succeeds the late John Eckman. The replacement was recommended by chairman of the Carbon County Board of Commissioners, and was approved unanimously.

The commissioners also approved that Dennis DeMara, head of the county’s parks and recreation commission, be nominated for a potential seat on a PA board relating to the National Recreational Trails Act of 1991.
