Fire companies respond to St. Luke’s Coaldale

Fire companies from several communities were on scene Thursday morning at St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale.

The hospital said a routine test caused one of the back-up generators (on the roof of a building adjacent to the hospital) to smoke. The roof of the building briefly smoldered.

The hospital said the situation has been resolved.

The alarm came in around 9:45 a.m. Fire companies from Coaldale, Lansford, Summit Hill and Tamaqua were called to the scene.
