September 20, 2002 - Alex Zukus scores three different ways in the first quarter to help Tamaqua roll to a 40-14 Anthracite 8 victory over Mahanoy Area. Zukus opens the scoring when he takes a screen pass from Kyle Spotts and races 59 yards to the end zone. The first of Kevin Lempfert’s two interceptions sets up a 5-yard touchdown run by Zukus. Later in the frame, Zukus returns a punt 65 yards for another tally. In total, Zukus touches the ball 12 times and compiles 248 all-purpose yards. The Blue Raiders, coached by Tom Bonner, also receive TD runs from Shane Kaufman and Robert Jones, and a 42-yard scoring toss from Spotts to Chris Wehr.
