The Fairlane Village Mall in Norwegian Township, near Pottsville, was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon after store officials received a bomb threat.
State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said they were summoned there at 2:25 p.m. when property management indicated they received the threat through email that the bomb was on the premises.
Police said the state police K-9 Explosive Detection Unit in Pottsville and St. Clair Police departments also responded. The Norwegian Township supervisors, the Pottsville City Fire Company and its chief and the Good Will and American Hose fire companies also responded to the scene and secured the area.
A search of the premises revealed no explosive devices.
The property was turned back to property management at 6 p.m.
