State police have released the names of the woman and teen who were victims in a North Catasauqua homicide.
Police on Tuesday released the names of Rosalyn Siobal Glass, 39, and Rianna Lynn Glass, 16.
Residents of the 1100 block of Railroad Street, North Catasauqua, watched in shock Sept. 14 as police and emergency responders converged on the area and established it a crime scene.
According to Northampton County District Attorney Terry Houck, two victims were discovered dead inside a home in the neighborhood that residents say is normally very quiet.
Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek pronounced a 39-year-old woman deceased at 1:11 p.m. and a 16-year-old girl deceased 1:12 p.m. He ruled the cause of both deaths as sharp force injuries and the manner of deaths as homicide.
Northampton Press records show Rianna was a student at Northampton Area High School.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, in a news release sent the following day, officers from the North Catasauqua Police Department were dispatched 11:22 a.m. to 1106 Railroad St. Upon arrival, officers were met by distraught people who said they discovered two family members dead inside the home.
Pennsylvania State Police is leading the investigation. Assisting are Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Bureau of Criminal Intelligence Computer Crime Unit, Northampton County Coroner’s Office, North Catasauqua Police Department, Catasauqua Police Department and Northampton Regional EMS.
Houck spoke briefly to the press Sept. 14 and said there was no danger to the public.
No additional information was given by press time.
