Carbon Veterans Affairs events
The Carbon County Veterans Affairs office has announced several upcoming events.

• The October Vietnam Veteran Coffee and Camaraderie will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 19 at the Palmerton Area Library RSVP by Oct. 16.
• The November Vietnam Veteran Coffee and Camaraderie will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 16 at the Carbon Career & Technical Institute in Jim Thorpe. RSVP by Nov. 13.
• The December Vietnam Veteran Coffee and Camaraderie will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 14 at the Weatherly American Legion. RSVP no later than Dec. 11.
Veterans Day events
Carbon County is honoring veterans during the week of Veterans Day.
• The Annual Carbon County Veterans Day parade, held this year in Nesquehoning, will take place at 2 p.m. on Nov. 5.
More details will be released closer to time.
• On Nov. 6, a ruck march/Walk with A Vet from Mauch Chunk Lake Park will begin at 7 a.m.
• Vets Vote: A campfire and supper at Mauch Chunk Lake Park will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 7.
Attendees are asked to bring a comfortable chair.
• On Nov. 8, the Veterans Hub of NEPA will hold an Open House at 1 p.m. The hub is located at St. Luke’s Lehighton.
• At 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 9, the county will hold its annual Veterans Day service in Josiah White Park. All are welcome.
• The week will conclude at 5 p.m. on Nov. 10 with the Second Annual Veterans Day dinner and resource fair at Penn’s Peak. Special remarks will be made by Daniel Dailey, 15th Sergeant Major of the United States Army.
The event is free for all veterans, as well as one guest. Seating is limited.
RSVPs are appreciated for the week’s events. Deadline to register is Nov. 1.
