A mystical day is on tap for Lehighton. The Spellbinding Street Festival will be held Saturday in the borough’s downtown park.
Guests are asked to dress in their finest spellbinding outfit while they check out the array of vendors lining the streets and visit the many downtown shops and eateries.
The event will feature live music, a scavenger hunt, house competitions, potion classes, cosplay characters, magical markers, butter beer and more.
The schedule of events is:
• 11 a.m. until supplies last: Potions Class in the park
• 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration information and assistance for the scavenger hunt and dueling club
• 1 to 2 p.m.: Owls and Other Fantastic Beasts presented by Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center (guests are asked to bring a donation)
• 2 to 3 p.m.: Costume Contest - three categories for child, youth, and adult, and best dog costume
• 3 to 4:30 p.m.: Dueling Club - child and adult divisions. Use spells learned during the scavenger hunt to duel witches and wizards. Win a wand if you come out on top.
• 4:30 p.m.: House Cup Winner announced. The House Cup will be awarded, as well as the witch or wizard who earned the most house points.

Houses include: Ignis at Ateira’s on First with food specials; Nox at Violent Venus Tattoo Studio with $50 Flash Tattoos; Ventus at One More Chapter LLC with books and jewelry, and Lux at Within Harmony with Tarot readings, crystals and more.
Magician hangouts will include Divination & Enchanted Tea Room at Wine & More on 1st, and Honeyflukes at Blended Bakery Lehighton.
