A balloon launch led by the teachers and students and their principal, Craig Moyer, marked the recent reopening of the newly-renovated Lehigh Township school building in Cherryville.

The cutting of the ribbon to open the school for classes was performed by retired former principal G. Edward Carle, school board member Elsie Andrews and former cafeteria worker Frances Kocher.

The new complex meets the needs of the 708 elementary children, grades K through six, and 26 teachers. A gymnasium, five new classrooms, an art room and a music room were added to the school.
