Founder’s Day activities at the Sixth Annual Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital Festival on Saturday honored the efforts of five deceased area men responsible for the institution.

The families of the late Wilbur G. Warner, Peter Merluzzi, George A. Schwartz, Norman Friend and the Rev. John R. Ludwig received plaques highlighting the efforts of the five men who worked toward the reality of Gnaden Huetten Hospital as a memorial to the men and women killed in World War II.

The ceremonies of the 1949 groundbreaking activities recorded on audio tape were played to the gathering, re-establishing the spirit in which the hospital committee functioned.
