Lehigh DA investigating video circulating in local schools

Editor's note: This story has been updated with new information. The district attorney said the video has not circulated in Carbon County as he originally reported.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin announced Wednesday that the Pennsylvania State Police have discovered an offensive video containing child pornography that has been circulating in some Lehigh Valley schools.

The announcement of the investigation is to warn the community about the sexually explicit content of this video, Martin said.

“The video shows a female teenager and a prepubescent young boy engaged in a sexual act,” a press release from the district attorney’s office, states. “It is child pornography.”

“This video has been known to have circulated among students at Northern Lehigh and Parkland schools,” according to the release. “At this point, we believe the video emanated from the Altoona area and does not depict any local children.”

Martin is reaching out to advise the community that if this video is discovered, it should not be disseminated and should be deleted.
