More than 200 students from the Pleasant Valley and Pen Argyl school districts reported off sick Monday morning due to what authorities believe was a food-poisoning case at a football game between the two schools on Friday night.

The game was staged at Pleasant Valley’s stadium in Brodheadsville. Stricken were 95 students from the host high school, about 10-12 middle school students and 109 youths from Pen Argyl, including 70 from the marching band.

The matter is being investigated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
