A 2017 Mazda 8 operated by Justin M. Mirabal, 29, of Tamaqua, was sideswiped at 3:23 a.m. Sept. 3 on Interstate 81 in Butler Township.

State police at the Hazleton barracks said he was driving southbound in the left lane at approximately 60 mph when an unknown vehicle attempted to pass his car and sideswiped it before fleeing the scene.

Police said the Mazda sustained passenger-side damages but was able to be driven from the scene. Mirabal was not injured.
