The new Weatherly Area School District’s middle and elementary schools, built at a cost of $2.9 million, were dedicated yesterday at ceremonies held in the new middle school gymnasium.
A crowd of more than 500 persons attended the event and toured the facility.
The keys to the schools were presented to Harold C. Jeppsen, school board president, by George Whipple, president of the Weatherly Area School Authority.
Among those participating in the ceremony were U.S. Congressman Dan Flood, PA State Rep. Thomas McCall.
The new facility consists of classrooms, a cafeteria, locker rooms, a gymnasium-auditorium, shop area, music department, conference room and home economics classrooms.
