A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday night in a crash in West Penn Township. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. as the biker was traveling along Route 895 and struck a deer just west of Dorset Road. The victim, treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics, was taken to a landing zone set up at the intersection of Routes 309 and 895 for LifeFlight 6. That flight was aborted and the victim being transported by ground to a nearby trauma center. West Penn fire police maintained traffic control at the scene, shutting down the roadway.
