State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on area crashes:

• Lindsay Y. Wyandt, 37, of Sciota, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:59 p.m. Aug. 21 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg. The severity of her injuries is unknown, they said.

Police did not provide the details, except to provide the names of the drivers. The other driver was Lynn E. Iredell, 79, of Effort, who was driving a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. Police said she had minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the Lehighton ambulance personnel. She was not transported to a medical facility.

Police are citing Wyandt, who was driving a 2019 Hyundai Elantra, for the incident.

• Two vehicles were damaged and one person had minor injuries in a mishap at 8:27 p.m. Aug. 23 at the intersection of Route 209 and Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the injured person is a 16-year-old girl from Whippany, New Jersey, who was a passenger in a 2006 Honda Civic driven by Destiny L. Marrero, 19, also of Whippany. The teen did not require a medical transport.

Police said Marrero was northbound on Route 209 and failed to yield to a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Tyler N. Dowling, 31, of Kunkletown, who was southbound and traveling through the intersection. Police said the Honda sustained functional damages but was driven from the scene. The Equinox was towed.

• Marybeth D. Sunderman, 55, of Brodheadsville, had minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 12:34 p.m. Aug. 23 on Frantz Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was treated by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association but did not require a medical transport.

Police did not provide the details of the crash except to identify the drivers and their vehicles. Sunderman was operating a 2017 Nissan Altima and the other driver, Gloria J. Shupp, 75, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. Police said it is unknown whether or not she was injured.

• No one was injured in a three-vehicle crash at 3:02 p.m. Aug. 26 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

The drivers included Emma C. Lerro, 19, and David Innamorato, 59, both of Effort, and Leonard J. Bock, 67, of Brodheadsville.

• Hayley R. Leverone, 35, of Kunkletown, had minor injuries in a one-car crash at 7:04 a.m. July 17 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the West End Fire Company to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.

Police said she was driving a 2009 Volkswagen northbound when she checked her cellphone for a text message and lost control of the car, which traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

Police said she is being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance (highest rate of alcohol).
