St. Luke’s University Health Network has donated $5,000 donation to the Palmerton Community Festival.
Susie Arner, festival president and co-chair of the event, said the festival is thankful to St. Luke’s for its ample donation.
“Many thanks to St. Luke’s for their generosity,” Arner said. “Events such as this one could not happen without such generosity.”
Arner added, “The Palmerton Festival will be using this donation as part of our entertainment budget so we can continue to supply amazing entertainment for our amazing supporters.”
Dave Gibson, St. Luke’s Carbon vice president of patient care services and operations, said the donation is toward a worthwhile cause.
“It’s a testament to our commitment to support the Palmerton community,” Gibson said. “This is a great event that is a homecoming; (the festival) supports a lot of businesses, and we’re happy to support it.”
Last week, the festival received a $5,000 donation from BEFESA Zinc US Inc., a zinc reclaiming company.
That donation will be put into the festival’s general fund to be applied toward the expense of improving the lighting around the park.
The 34th annual Palmerton Community Festival runs Friday through Sunday in the borough park.
