Richard D. Abbazio, 38, of Palmerton, was charged by state police at the Lehighton barracks with after a motorcycle crash Tuesday at 11:40 a.m. on Weir Mountain Road in Polk Township.

Police said he was operating a 2001 Harley-Davidson 883 northbound when he lost control of the cycle and it crashed off the roadway. Police said Abbazio left the scene without the vehicle and returned home.

Police said he had minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

The Harley was towed from the scene.
