September 6, 2003 - Pleasant Valley captures its own volleyball tournament by defeating five schools. The Bears, coached by John Gesiskie, take down Mountain View, Tamaqua and Panther Valley in pool play before handling Tunkhannock in the semifinals. Pleasant Valley knocks off Pennridge 25-17, 25-19 to claim the title. Brittany Hanley finishes the tourney with 40 kills and four blocks, while Jamie Gesiskie collects 47 assists and nine aces. The winners also receive 10 kills, three blocks and three aces from Katie Parson.
