ON THIS DATE SEPTEMBER 5, 1976

Winners of the Summit Hill Home Decorating Contest, held in conjunction with activities centered around the 200th anniversary of the founding of the United States, were named by the committee in charge of the event.

First place was won by Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kutz, 4 E. Walter St., for the bicentennial garden display, while second place went to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Yuricheck, 416 W. Ludlow St., and third place was won by Mrs. Marie O’Donnell, 24 W. Walter St.

Judges for the contest were Earl Henning, Carbon County director of Veterans Affairs, Sam Utsick, a member of the Jim Thorpe VFW Post, and Joseph Rodgers of the Jim Thorpe American Legion Post.
