A Monroe County couple is dead from apparent gunshot wounds after their bodies were found on a deck outside their home Monday night.
At 8:48 p.m., Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to the home in the 100 block of Diane Lane, Barrett Township, for a report of two deceased individuals on a deck.
Family friends located the couple’s bodies when they went to the home following a request by family to check on their well being.
Police and investigators arrived on scene to find that Michael Oliver, 69, and Deborah Oliver, 68, had suffered from apparent gunshot wounds.
All evidence located, and the scene indicate that this was an isolated incident, and is being investigated as a domestic incident.
County Coroner Tom Yanac said autopsies were performed on the bodies, but added he is waiting to hear from the police department before he releases the official cause of death.
