Post 927 of the American Legion, Gilbert is hosting Bingo, which is open to the public, on Tuesday, beginning with card sales at 6:30 p.m. Games are called beginning at 7 p.m.

Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church has announced that the Royal Rangers and Girls Ministries will resume on Sept. 6, from 7 p.m. and to 8:15 p.m.

GS Troop 52334

The Girl Scouts of Troop 52334 are meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 7 at St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, and hosting a Back to School and Scouts ice cream social with each current member asked to bring a friend.

She is one of the assistant troop leaders.

The troop will meet at the church first and third Thursday each month.

Pizza sale

McMichaels UMC is hosting a homemade pizza sale through Sept. 7. Orders must be placed by Sept. 7 by calling Martha Stout at 570-992-6742.

Pickup is at the church before 11 a.m., Sept. 16.

The pizzas are all 12-inch, cheese only.

Friday Fun Night

Staci Gower, coordinator of Christian Formation at St. Matthew’s UCC in Kunkletown, has scheduled the first Friday Fun Night, at the church for the church youth and their family or friends.

Starting in September, leaders are calling it Faith and Family Night. They are incorporating a Bible story, activity and family into the evenings. Sept. 8, 6 to 8 p.m., is “Donut Forget to Bring a Friend” and there will be doughnuts and milk, a lesson about sharing and friendship, and doughnut craft.

All are invited.

Couples cruise

Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church is hosting a Couples Luncheon Cruise in Philadelphia on Sept. 9.

Movie time

Middlecreek Christian Church is continuing its free monthly movie nights throughout the year. The next showing, on Sept. 10, will be “God’s Not Dead 2.” Pizza, beverages, and snacks will be provided.

Poconos pickup

The Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau is seeking volunteers for its next regionwide litter pickup day on Sept. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (rain or shine). The biannual event is just one component of the PMVB’s overall Pick Up the Poconos campaign, which has resulted in nearly 34,000 bags of trash picked up.

Volunteer forms may be filled out at PickUpthePoconos.com. The deadline to register is 5 p.m., Sept. 15.

The deadline to submit a group registration is Sept. 12 by 5 p.m.

PMVB provides supply kits to each volunteer containing T-shirts, gloves, trash bags, safety vests and other supplies.

Rail trail extension

The Greenways Feasibility Study, studying the possibility of extending a rail trail from Palmerton to Kunkletown, will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 12, at the Lower Towamensing Recreation Center, 1770 Fireline Rd. Palmerton.

The public is urged to attend. Representatives of Barry Isett Associates, the engineering firm conducting the study, will be present to respond to questions. A survey will be available at the township offices or upon request through email in advance of the meeting.

Date change

The previously announced autumn flea market date at St. Peter’s UMC has been changed to Sept. 23.

Potential vendors should still call 570-992-6930 for availability.

Fusion Festival

Middlecreek Christian Church has announced its free 2023 Fusion Festival for the weekend of Sept. 15-18.

Folks can come and camp for the entire weekend or just come for the day.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with dinner followed by Family Game Night and music from Jordan River Ramblers. Then follows the movie Jesus Revolution under the stars with a campfire Bible study to conclude the evening.

Saturday begins with an 8 a.m. breakfast followed by games including Christian Jeopardy and Bingo. Lunch will be served at noon and music begins at 1 p.m. and will run throughout the day with groups such as Doc Poppa & The Renegade Ramblers, Chasing Daylight, Think of Three, and Narrow Road.

Between music events, there will be children’s ministry sessions and a scavenger hunt.

Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. followed by more music and games. Chris Severn of “Let’s Paint A Picture” will demonstrate his talent through the Word and the evening will conclude with another campfire Bible study.

Sunday begins with breakfast served at 9 a.m., followed by worship service at 10:30 a.m.

Open House

The Ross Township Historical Society will host an open house on Ross Township Community Day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16, and every second Saturday of each month thereafter at the same time.

There is no charge for admission and all are welcome to view photographs, artifacts and items specific to historical Ross Township. The museum located at 258 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg.

Purse Bingo

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is hosting a Designer Purse bingo on Sept. 16 with proceeds helping send the youth to attend the National Catholic Youth Conference.

Doors open at noon. Games start at 1 p.m. sharp.

Tickets in advance are $5 less than at the door.

Food and refreshments will be available at the concession stand.

The event offers Coach, Michael Kors, Kate Spade.

Pancakes galore

There will be an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast being served from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, Sept. 17, at the Pegasus Airpark Hanger, 222 Hickory Lane, Saylorsburg, presented by EAA 839 Chapter.

Pocono Riders Motorcycle Club will be welcomed and there will be free Young Eagles flights for ages 8 to17.

In addition, the event includes kids building planes, hot air balloon, paramotor, parachutist displays, depending on weather.

Community Day

Sept. 16 is the day set for Ross Township Community Day. There will be local organizations, emergency apparatus, craft and retail vendors as well as entertainment and refreshments.
