Vincent Gigliotti was installed as commander of the American Legion Post, Jim Thorpe, during a ceremony held last night. The installing officer was Donald McPherson of Hellertown, 30th District commander.

Other officers who took their oaths are Arlene Shoop, first vice commander, Bruce Schlecht, second vice commander, Gerald Haggerty, adjutant, Robert Mayor, finance officer, Theodore Hinger, chaplain, and Francis O’Donnell and Ralston Jones, historians.

A plaque was received by the post for outstanding membership, which reached 506 this year, the highest since the founding of the post 44 years ago.
