August 26, 1997 - Jim Thorpe’s Jared Albert edges teammate Geoff Kelowitz by two strokes to earn medalist honors in the Olympians’ 330-412 Schuylkill League victory over MMI. Albert turns in a round of 79 at Edgewood in the Pines to help Thorpe, coached by Laura Erskine, win its third consecutive match to open the season. Kelowitz cards an 81, while teammate Jared Kelowitz finishes one stroke back at 82. The Olympians’ Julie Halenar and Jerod Hoder both end with 88s.
