Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Lewistown Valley Tabernacle

Friday through Sept. 4, the 110th Lewistown Valley Camp meeting with services each night with Larry and Tamla Leckrone, ministries of Norman, IN. The event will take place on week nights at 7 p.m. and Sunday and Labor Day, 6 p.m.
Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. Pennsylvania Adult and Teen Challenge Choir sharing song and testimony of God’s amazing grace.
Featured on Sept. 3 will be River of Grace Quartet at 2:30 p.m.

Diaper Depot
Diaper Depot, the free diaper ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, is accepting new clients for its Sept. 23 distribution. You must be a resident of the Tamaqua Area School District and make a request at www.ziontamaqua.com by Aug. 31. You will be given an appointment time for the Sept. 23 distribution.
The first time you pick up diapers, you must present a birth certificate for the child or children and some type of proof of residence. Diapers are available for children up to age 4 sizes NB to 6 and pullups 2T-3T and 3T-4T.
Diaper Depot is a community pantry of the Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank. Zion is located at the corner of Greenwood and Mauch Chunk streets in Tamaqua.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Aug. 17 with 27 members in attendance. President Eleanor Schmerfeld opened the meeting.
A fall collection was won by Mary Reed. Three containers were won by Ann Fedor. Jean Machamer will replace Eleanor as the next President by majority vote.
The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
Thrift Sale
Blessings, Zion Lutheran’s thrift ministry, is hosting a one-day summer clearance/back to school sale, Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The sale features gently used summer clothing and school uniforms along with general household items, books, toys and holiday decorations. A limited takeout kitchen menu is available. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. No personal checks.
Zion Lutheran is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets in Tamaqua.
