West Penn Lions dedicate new basketball court

Bob Miller, West Penn Lions Club member and past international director, dedicated a new baskeball court donated by the West Penn Lions at the West Penn Township Park last Wednesday evening.

“We are dedicating this baskeball equipment, that was purchased by the West Penn Lions, in addition to the Lions of PA Foundation,” Miller said. “The installation of the equipment was provided by employees of the township. We thank all those people who were responsble and supported this project.”

The Lions received a matching grant from the Lions of PA Foundation in the amount of $3,030, which covered half of the cost of replacing the two basketball poles, two backboards, hoops and nets. West Penn Lions Club donated the rest of the money.

The club also thanked West Penn Twp supervisors, Road Foreman Jeremy Frabel, and those who did the work.
