August 19, 1958 - A solid pitching effort from Paul Lenick and a good day at the plate by Bernie Heller allows Tamaqua to gain a 5-1 Panther Valley Little League Tournament victory over Nesquehoning. Lenick allows just six hits and strikes out 12. Heller finishes 3-for-3 with a run scored, while Bill Semko adds a pair of hits and a run. The winners, coached by Don Ansbach and Pat Sweeney, also receive a hit and a run from Bill Yacobenas. For Nesquehoning, Paul Slivka accounts for three of his team’s six hits.
