A Lansford woman escaped injuries in a three-vehicle crash at 3:47 a.m. July 28 on Interstate 81 in Hazle Township.
State police at the Hazleton barracks said the other two drivers, as well as one passenger, were also uninjured.
Police said the incident happened when all three vehicles were southbound. They said a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq operated by Chris B. Green, 34, of Washington, D.C., crossed over the centerline and was passing a 2011 Suzuki driven by Latoya H. Hamilton, 41, of Lansford, when the Hyundai struck the rear driver’s side quarter panel of the Suzuki, causing it to spin around and strike the guide rail.
Meanwhile, police said John N. Arnold, 52, of Windsor, was driving a 2024 Volvo truck tractor and swerved to avoid a collision with the Suzuki.
Police said Green was cited for “turning movements and required signals.”
All three vehicles were towed from the scene.
