Rush-Ryan Seniors
The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior citizens met on Aug. 8 with 38 members in attendance. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Lucille Spaar.
Members celebrating a birthday in August include Beverly Barron. Refreshments were donated by Sherry and Fred Herb and Shirley Kaiser.
The group meets at 1 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the White Church, Barnesville. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
Tamaqua Senior Citizens
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Aug. 10 with 29 members in attendance.
After the meeting was opened, a prayer was said and a catered picnic was held. Desserts were provided by members. It was enjoyed by all.
The treasurer’s report was accepted. President Mary Bittle, Vice President Joyce Krell and treasurer Diane Gould resigned.
By a majority vote, members voted in Eleanor Schmerfeld as president; Shirley Kaiser as vice president, Ruthann Feane as secretary, and Nancy Godanis as treasurer.
A pumpkin candle, lamb bag and baked goods were chanced off.
The meeting closed. Bingo and cards were played.
Meetings are held at the Coaldale Complex.

The Lumber River Quartet of Lumberton, North Carolina, will perform a gospel music concert at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24.
Aug. 25-Sept 4, the 110th Lewistown Valley Camp meeting with services each night with Larry and Tamla Leckrone ministries of Norman, Indiana. Weeknights 7 p.m., Sunday and Labor Day nights 6 p.m.
Pennsylvania Adult And Teen Challenge Choir, 7 p.m. Aug. 30.
River Of Grace Quartet, 2:30 p.m. Sept. 3. Labor Day concert with Mended Heart at 2:30 p.m.
