A one-vehicle crash at 3:24 a.m. Monday on Interstate 78 in Tilden Township, Berks County, claimed the life of a Darby resident.

Keira Martin, 21, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead by the Berks County Coroner.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said the vehicle driven by Abion Khalifah, 22, of Philadelphia, was eastbound at mile marker 29.7 when the driver lost control of it. The vehicle exited the roadway on the southbound side of the road and struck the end of a guide rail.

Khalifah was transported to a local hospital after the crash.
