A 39-year-old New Jersey man is wanted in Monroe County on charges relating to the drug death of a 33-year-old Stroudsburg man, the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney said.

Edwin Burgos is facing charges in the overdose death of Steven Nitschke in March, the DA’s office said.

Nitschke was found dead in his residence and an autopsy revealed he died of fentanyl toxicity.

Detectives from the county’s Criminal Investigation Division and from the Stroud Area Regional Police gathered evidence that showed Burgos, Nitschke’s co-worker, delivered what Burgos said was heroin to Nitschke hours before he died.

Burgos’ whereabouts are unknown but he is known to frequent the East Stroudsburg area near the Eagle Valley Shopping Center.
